I did it!
I took the Penny Project on the road in a serious way.
All the way to Paris, France!
I will let the three photos I took do most of the talking, but … let me just say how awesome the experience was. I mean totally.
A rush of emotions, mostly happy excitement and exuberance. A sharing, albeit a secret one. A new and renewed belief in the power of the positive.
You all should try it!
Here’s what happened:
It was my second day in Paris and I decided to take the Rick Steves’ walkabout down Notre Dame way. It includes the Left Bank and when I got to that area, I decided to stop for lunch.
I was sitting at a sidewalk café and there was constant foot traffic. Hmmm. I plucked out a shiny penny from my coin purse — yes, a U.S. penny, not a Euro — and bent down to “tie my shoe” and surreptitiously plunked it down, heads up, on the sidewalk directly in front of me.
The first time someone picked it up, I missed taking the shot as I was shocked and not ready for it.
But the second time, well, I was ready, as you can see.
